I’d LOVE for you to make a “Which Samurai” video about the Shinkengers from, well, “Samurai Sentai Shinkenger”, otherwise known as the show that basically codified my own interest in Japanese culture!

"Samurai cant have a lord they are completely loyal to." *Laughs in Paladin.* it is a major fly in the ointment and makes it hard to work into a lot of adventures, but yes you absolutely can have a character who has deep loyalty to their lord and that can function in an adventuring party just fine. "But what if an opportunity for character growth and/or conflict happens?" that's what the RP in the RPG stands for. Sooo yes you play a historical Samurai (Or at least an analog). To your question, yeah. Samurai, much like the Knight and Barbarian has taken on a life of its own in fantasy that is separate from its historical counterparts.

Interesting how it was a result of United States trying to prevent communism. United States has tried to fight foreign communism several times, and whenever it doesn't backfire on them it comes at the cost of the well-being of the foreign citizens. Weird how this time not only worked out for both parties, it was a accomplished with the U.S. giving a big handout, the very thing all the biggest critics of communism insist bring it about. Ironic.

My experience with history is that its not really well kept. Even in my country Puerto Rico where the Spanish conquistadors conquered all the natives and forced them into slavery, a lot of facts and things were altered just to write a different narrative, and it has been only in like the last 10 years, that they have found new historical documents that has suddenly changed what we had been taught in schools and stuff, so my point with all of this is, that everyone needs to take everything with a grain of salt, because unless you have something that can be verified by multiple witnesses and stuff, and that there are multiple records that were kept by other people and such, then you can't fully trust what has been written down, and you should only keep it in mind to try and learn from it, rather than become obsessed over it like some history fanatics that I know.

to think this trope goes back that far! it was fascinating to hear and learn about! also about how modern people tend to look on it favorably probably has something to do with how passive and apathetic people have become in modern times and relationships and to see that much passion in anything can truly inspire said people
